Whether you want maximum cooling performance or ultra-efficient inverter technology, our team will recommend the ideal system based on your caravan design and your cooling requirements.
You should match the cooling capacity (measured in BTUs or kilowatts) to your caravan’s size, insulation, roof height and typical ambient temperature. Oversized units waste energy, while under-sized ones struggle to cool.
For example: a mid-wall split inverter may suit a 20-ft caravan in coastal SA, whereas a 30-ft model in inland high heat may require a higher capacity rooftop unit.
Yes — inverter units are far more efficient and better suited for limited power setups (battery via and inverter, or 220-240 V mains). They modulate compressor speed, use less start-current and draw less overall power.
However you still need to verify your battery bank, inverter/charger system, fuse and cable sizing to ensure safe operation.
While some caravan owners attempt DIY, we strongly recommend professional installation: safe electrical wiring, proper roof sealing, correct refrigerant charge, and caravan specialist experience matter.
Using professional installers also helps maintain warranty coverage of the unit.
Routine maintenance includes cleaning or replacing filters, checking seals around the unit, ensuring good airflow and verifying thermostat and remote-control functions.
Also keep the van well insulated, close windows and vents when running the AC, and use shading or awnings to reduce heat load for better efficiency.
